1996 Europeans - Pairs Medalists (RUS,GER,FRA)

There was a great deal of excitment at the 95 European Pair Championships. The defending Germans (Mandy Wotzel and Ingo Steuer) were unable to hold off a new Russian pair with a well known anchor named Artur Dmitriev (Oksana Kazakova). Although skating well and winning here, they would endure a legacy of falls unparalled in international pairs skating history.

An exciting team from France, Sarah Abitbol and Stephane Bernadis would take a bronze (Frances first since 1932), and win many fans in the United States with their flamboyant and artistic skating.
