This guy may be a professional photographer, but he is not a professional as a NATURE photographer. What he did was stupid, dangerous and disrespectful to the animal. He's lucky he lost a lens and not an eye.
If you want to photograph nature people, don't act as stupidly as this guy.

Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you... it's all part of the job! :) Glad he didn't get hurt, but I don't think the stag's to blame.

I never suggested I was "upset" about it; indeed I was amused. After all, how do you expect a stag to react if you approach him with your head lowered? I'd have been upset if the guy had been injured. But he clearly was not.
