The Art of Creative Coding | Off Book | PBS

Programming plays a huge role in the world that surrounds us, and though its uses are often purely functional, there is a growing community of artists who use the language of code as their medium. Their work includes everything from computer generated art to elaborate interactive installations, all with the goal of expanding our sense of what is possible with digital tools. To simplify the coding process, several platforms and libraries have been assembled to allow coders to cut through the nitty-gritty of programming and focus on the creative aspects of the project. These platforms all share a strong open source philosophy that encourages growth and experimentation, creating a rich community of artists that share their strategies and work with unprecedented openness.

Sorry for the little spam comment. I like to code, i'm not the best but I like batch, it's easy and simple and fun to play with. I make batch file tutorials and don't get much views. If you are whatsoever interested in batch coding, give me a shot. My goal is too get my viewers to be able to just code, for fun on the top of their head. Listen...if you want to learn how to write software, stop beating around the bush.

I learned programming by sitting down and just studying C++; eventually breaking apart how a computer works. Complicated just means that there a lot of tiny things to take into account, but with time you understand. Just JUMP IN for god's sake; Bucky's C++!

Stop leaving the mysteries of the computer as just a mystery that people solve for you.

You're going to use the damn thing so learn how it works!
