sorry thats not an 84, it has to be at least an 88 thats the first year GM came out with that dash style for these cars, even the 87 was different, an both my cavalier, 88 an my 89 have that dash, but its a great car! built like a tank!

i have a 92 sunbird with the 3.1 V6 and it has 375000km and its still going hard. i call it my honda spanker, such a sleeper.

I grew up in an 84 cavalier station wagon. Dad always used Mobil 1 in it on October 17, 1992 I hit a deer in it and well the rest is history it had just hit 280,000 miles still had perfect interior and body till the accident.

I just got a 5 speed 92' sunbird today. Gotta get new tags and tomorrow and I'm taking her our for a test drive. Are these good cars? The one I got is definitaly a fixer upper but it has potential. The motor is in great shape, but the body has a few dings in it. I believe it's a 2.0 litre. Also, what's the average fuel milage these cars get?

nice ride, i personnaly have a '88 sunbird turbo gt convertible and these cars rock solid and very underrated like BMan100 said before. Just begun to do some mod, nothing serious but just to add some juice under the hood. I justUpgraded the exaust to 2.5 inch and it make a relatively big difference, next plan will be the intercooler and i'll probably stop there an after just giving her some love lol. Overall there are great cars with a lot of potentials.

My 1984 J2000"STE" Convertible aka Sunbird now has 300,000 miles on it and it rides smother than my new Volvo....and it always runs. It's such a fun beach car. 41 MPG is not bad either
Well It's a J2000 and that name was dropped on 85 or so. It was also the 1.8 motor which wasn't available for the years you stated. So you're wrong :)

Is that an 87?

I'm pretty sure it was an 84, 1.8 liter turbo non-intercooled.

Yeah it really did drive nice. It's back in my uncle's hands getting a transmission in the near future.
If you really want some power, I suggest you look into a system called megasquirt. There should be a plug-and-play, or at least some diagrams out there to show you what to do. It's an excellent syste,

It is stock. T2 turbo, no intercooler, three-speed automatic with locking converter. Neat car, but stock :-(
