Weird title. In a way it is true about Armenian genocide. Indeed Turks established gun control, took away all guns from Armenians, took men to the army, disarmed them there and slaughtered men, women, kids, elderly. France has 30 guns per 100 residents, Switzerland has 46, the US has 90. That's a big difference. And as a French citizen who has lived almost 20 years in France, I can tell you that gun control in France is ten times more strict than anything the Democrats have ever proposed. The types of weapons, their transportation, ammunition, private and public sale are all so highly regulated by the government that what Obama is currently proposing looks like child's play compared to what France has.

France doesn't have as strict of gun control laws as you think, their firearm ownership rate is nearly as high as Switzerland, a country conservatives love to point to as a model for effective gun laws.

Because they don't have malevolent governments now, do they? I'm not sure in how far I agree with the idea that our guns would help us fight back against tyranny, but you're misrepresenting his point. The point is not that tough gun control implies tyranny, but rather that loose gun control implies no tyranny.
