Indonesia 1940.This video is of my grandparents and my mother at the age of 1 in Indonesia, pre war.My grandparents moved there because my grandfather was in the dutch military.My mother was born there in 1939.Rare footage!

  • I do love indonesia, my grandmother is japanese, my grandfather is javanese, slightly different isnt it?. im currently live in japan. i moved here in 1985, at first nihonggo zen zen wakarimasen, watashino kazokuwa san nin desu. tapi saya masih suka ke indonesia, at least 4 bulan sekali saya ke indonesia melihat kambing2 saya beranak pinak dikandang dekat lumpur lapindo sidoarjo. どうぞうよろしくおねがいします。

  • Ummmm!i think,Indonesia is so calm and beautiful on 1940!but now,omg,jakarta is so crowded and almost everyday in jakarta is traffic..but now in indonesia their have KB(Keluarga Berencana)or in English is Family Plan..actually KB is for a family so their not have so many child like the 60's or 70's in Indonesia...or should i say like my father family,my father have 11 sibling and my mom have 7 sibling!haha

  • People of German descents comprised the second most europeans who lived in East Indies then. However, according to law most of them gained dutch citizenship. There were prominent persons who had German blood/nationality, i.e. Junghuhn, Reinwardt, Walter Spies, and Ernest Douwes Dekker.

  • Not sure but there were Germans in the time of the Dutch Cape Colony in today South Africa.

  • I don't know if there were Germans in Dutch Indonesia but there were many Germans in South Africa
