Video of the tornado-warned supercell that developed near Lakota, North Dakota on June 26th, 2009. This supercell went through various life cycles as it rolled East towards the City of Grand Forks. This storm was well warned before it hit Grand Forks with sirens sounding about an hour prior. Grand Forks has recently installed new state-of-the-art sirens at the University of North Dakota and you can hear them in the video. They sound eerily awesome. Apparently there were multiple touchdowns in and around the city. There were NO tornadoes. All I noted was a few gustnadoes associated with the bowing segment that moved over the city. False Reports of tornadoes are becoming more numerous around urban centers. This video shows that tornadoes did not touch down in and around Grand Forks on June 26th, 2009. We followed this storm from birth near Lakota to dissipation. We had to constantly stay ahead of the RFD (rear flank downdraft). Severe events associated with this storm were strong straight-lined winds, gustnadoes, and torrential rain...and maybe small hail (in which we did not see)

  • @quietmom542 there was a tornado, I watched it, it was about 13miles to the NW of where these guys were.

  • Why is it I don't see a tornado but they keep repeating that it is a tornado warning when a warning means that a tornado has touched down?? A tornado watch means the conditions are favorable for a tornado and if you don't believe me on that look it up!

  • I remember this storm. I was walking home after working at the cenex here in lakota. the WAS a tornado touchdown just out side of town. did some damage on a friends farm but was minimal. its too bad you didnt get it on camera. it was huge!!!!!

  • 1:25 Great Wall Cloud

  • @ndjln122 really ur commenting on a fucking tornado video about a fucking hair cutting place really

  • @123breidi123 you try to act cool. i bet you were terrified deep down inside. and it wouldnt be exciting if those clouds that were spinning touched down and killed everyone exept the ones in the basement.now would it

  • @ndjln122 I don't go to that one anymore either. They are horrible.

  • I was on Gateway Dr. during the period near your video from the Cenex on DeMers and 42nd St. A downpour coupled with one of the "gustnadoes" streaked across Gateway just as I passed Simplot, westbound. The rain rate was very heavy, and the gust got the pucker factor up. I scrambled into the Burger King which stopped serving and was waving motorists in for shelter. Just a hard blow, no damage. But, if we saw destruction, we were to follow the staff into the cold room!
