Man, if they had just played this right when Ridley appeared instead of waiting for Samus to get her shit together and start the fight the scene leading up to it would have been a hell of a lot better...

I'll add my two cents.
Gameplay? Vintage Metroid, with some of the most intense action in the series.
Story? So bad it makes the rest of the game unbearable. Let it never be said ever again that story is not important in a game.

Game? In a series of awesome it was "alright". "Alright" in an awesome series? That's a massive shame, which is why I'm really not fond of the game. That's without counting the story, of course (Which only wished in its wildest dreams that it was "alright").
The music, however, truly was awesome.

Even if this game was just okay or good as far as Metroid games go, this is an awesome version of the Ridley theme.

This game has clones of Ridley and Phantoon in it. Why didn't nintendo go for the Super Metroid "Four main bosses" route and put in Kraid and Draygon in this game as well?
