@dugitomi - Beautifully put, dugitomi.

He ain't lost yet. He still plays every week, maybe not to our audience of the 60's and 70's but his music lives. My 24 year old daughter loves his music, so there it is.

Too Brilliant

@gwilkes0416 thanks for the information. i wonder what connection they have to Mr. Reid. maybe they were bigger in the usa than the uk? anyway, Mayfly is one of the greatest works of music ever recorded. It's up there with the late Ustad Vilayat Khan's Jhinjhoti. Mr. Reid is an under-appreciated genius. it's nice that he's getting more exposure now and continues to perform regularly. wish he would come to Japan.

By the way, the 2nd to last photo is Savoy Brown, not Badfinger. Don't know who the last picture is. Mayfly will always make me cry.
-
@SuperMcabral could that be Badfinger? A great tragedy. Casualties of the music industry. They were quite big in the early 70s. There's a photo of them in wikipedia. The fellow with the top hat is not in the wiki photo. Mike Gibbons, on the left, is easily identifiable from the wiki photo. The blond-haired fellow on the right looks like Pete Ham who, committed suicide in 1975, age 27. Tom Evans, second from left, killed himself in 1983, age 36. I don't think Mr. Reid is in the photo.

Just sublime he was one of our lost geniuses

@SuperMcabral maybe that's a photo of the replacements that ryan the comedy kid mentioned below. i was wondering the same thing.
-
Why can't I place the next to last photo? It is so close but I'm so far. Was Terry Reid in the picture?

I love this song more as I get older and it's more personal than when I was young and in lust all the time.

One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard...just beautiful.

a timeless tune from the one of the greatest musical artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. he still delivers with more soul than one could fit in all the cathredrals, synagogues, mosques, shrines, and temples in the world.
