This unique wedding in Wales is the most unusual one I've ever attended, and the most amazing one you'll ever see. The bride is American, the groom is Welsh. They incorporated ancient Welsh traditions, be they wedding-related or not, such as the "Mari Lwyd," a strange figure consisting of a horse's skull being carried on a pole by a man. Since time immemorial this figure preceded Christmas time (and before!) processions that went from house to house, singing, hoping to be let in and share in the holiday bounty, despite their rather strange and ugly companion. Since this tradition is quintessentially Welsh, it was incorporated into this couple's wedding celebration -- as was the tradition of having the groom search the village for his bride, who was holed up in someone's house (typically with a pregnant woman or a child, to help with fertility). The groom would sing at the doors in an attempt to lure out his bride. In addition to the unusual ceremony, imagine that it also takes place in a remote eco-retreat, with hand-built houses including a traditional Welsh round house, in which the ceremony took place. Watch all the segments -- it's just amazing!
SORRY BUT IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL A WEDDING !!!!!!!!!!!!

@dreamer8m -- Yes, I sure do! I did say it was unusual -- the bride and groom wanted to incorporate some ancient and traditional Welsh customs, and this was the magical result. It's not to everyone's taste, and if you're into conventional, cookie-cutter weddings, then I don't recommend doing this. But I sure loved it!

Yes, very unusual. However, is this like a typical wedding in Wales? Dress looks beautiful. Send close-ups! Thanks...

@wahinefmga -- No, not at all typical. The bride and groom are not typical! They are creative, musical, artistic, unusual people, so how could they have a typical wedding! No, I wouldn't want anyone to think that all Welsh weddings are like this. This is one you'll never see again, anywhere! I was so lucky to have been there, and witnessed such a magical event.
