Cammed 305 idle and walk around

this is my 89 camaro RS... as you can see its got a real big cam in it.. she blueprinted in at a little uder 390hp at the flywheel :)

too big of a cam, mine has an advanced comp cam .030 and makes 290 hp with ported heads, still on the stock block

@92camarors25 so why is my cam too big when it makes more power?... my torque rating was 357.2 ft.lbs and that was with 081 castings that definitly did not flow enough for the amount of lift, duration, and the 107dg. lobe separation angle. so i decided the car will be getting a full resto and an ls1/t56 swap with fuel cell and full rollcage :)

@92camarors25 ive built 2 of these F-bodies already this year and i just bought a 91 bird t/a with t-top that im putting a .040 over 350 (357ci Approx.) with a milder cam but it will make up with low end tourque by displacement. if you need any help problem solving hit me up

is that idle high enough for the engine to get proper lubrication? just wondering >.< im about to rebuild my 305

@RedResurrections my 305 has 350 heads and camshaft and it sounds better than that with a bad vaccumn leak...(started it and forgot to plug the pcv valve back to the carb)i one day want to swap the heads to maybe vortecs any advise on a cam selection

Built my lt1 last summer 383 shortblock 306 cam 1.6 rr LE2 heads chamber exhaust im getting 412rwhp 467fpt. You installed a cam in stock 180-200hp 305 and that added 390hp? Buy a geared timing set and make us believe it has a super charger XD.
