The new Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti has many challenges as the cost of Italy's borrowing has risen to seven per cent .
 
Unemployment currently stands at eight per cent but youth unemployment is more than 3 times higher. as most twenty and thirty year olds go from short term contract to short term contract without any real expectations of starting a career.
