Sony PlayStation 1 CD-RW exploit.

SPECIAL THANKS TO TAILS92 FOR THE IDEA

Time to Complete: 2 hours

Every PS laser diode setting is different. So the potentiometers ohms as well as resistor values in this matter can not be shared.

I also managed to run Bust a Groove (PAL) off of the CD-RW. However, the audio tracks stop during the gameplay. I do not know why exactly, but it has something to do with how it was burned and how the laser can perceive the pits on the CD-RW.

  • Does this work with mini CD-RWs?

  • @xan1242 I would say so. I mean, they are the same so it should. Go ahead and test it if you want, and post it as a video response ;)

  • @Haunted360 Nah,I'm not gonna play around with my PSOne (SCPH-102) because it is under warranty.

By the way,you reminded me of something;I once was trying to kind of revive my PS2 DVD drive (and I failed),and while it was opened,I accidentaly pulled it by the power cable while it was open.I broke a fuse inside that allowed the vibration on gamepads (and that would explain the burnt smell coming out of the fan) and reset the internal memory. But other than that,it's still working with Free McBoot

  • @xan1242 lol. The PSone warranty ran out, uh, I dunno... maybe several years ago xD

  • @Haunted360 Hey,your PS1 you use in this video is modchipped?

  • @bacovia2004 Yes.

  • @Haunted360 Do you have the diagram for it?I really need it!!

  • @Haunted360 No,no...I gave it to repair. :D

  • Oh and for burning, you should tend to use low burning speeds;4x till 16x,but I use 8x because I have a DVD burner,as that is the lowest speed that my DVD burner can burn CDs at.
