A divorcee who has remarried drives around the city taking different people in her car. Her passengers are her son, her sister, two mosque visiting women and a prostitute. In the course of these car trips a few things are revealed about their lives.

Is this a documentary or not you may ask yourself after watching it. In any case it is split into 10 episodes (counting down from 10 to 1).

  • Ive seen Kiarostami's movies, but I dont think they are that great. His use of children particularly bothers me. He puts these adult or rather artificial dialogs on these small kids, making his movies somewhat uncredible. I only watch his movies for the scenary and the fact that they are unconventional.

  • I agree that the dialogues the son and the mother have in Ten are slightly extraordinary but still overall I would say that Ten is a very interesting social and artistic statement. I havn't yet seen any of his other films.

  • The way that kid talked and acted was an implication of his father's influence on him. He was acting like his father and like the way his father was arguing with him about his mother. watch his tune and body language again, and u will see a sharp reflection of "The Father" all around "The Son"

  • no it isnt

  • I think it's some documentary. I like this filming real life situations, and I love persia and the beautifull people and this woman is soo beautifull!

    peace

  • he is a little brat i tell you....it is obviously within the norm of their culture for men to disrespect women, but this child is a perfect stereotype....

  • How can these movies be an act? The sister was sitting there practically picking her teeth. They did not show the prostitutes face. If it was a movie, wouldn't they have shown her? Are these movies or real. If they are movies, that kid is quite an actor.

  • I agree exactly. He is too young to have these opinions yet. His opinions are coming from somewhere.

  • i still dont think this is an act im confused is it an act?

  • I must say i enjoyed the movies very much. I think the actors play EXTREMELY well, I even now sit and find myself in doubt. However it's clear that the child speaks like a grown up, yet I don't find this disturbing like irannostalgia, actually i find it being a funny twist. If the disturbance is regarding morality, well lets just say the world and iran has larger issues than this, if even it is an issue

  • mmh, it's true that what the children say is pretty "adult", maybe sometimes too adult, but on the other hand i have met many kids in iran and i have to say that their way of talking is often very precocious, so that's why these scenes don't seems very artificial to me

  • cira veng tunne?
