Another, smaller bud on my girlfriend Robin's white Phalaenopsis orchid opens in our sunroom greenhouse. Exposures were taken at three minute intervals over about 46 hours (Jan 29 - Feb 1, 2006). Camera flash was used in every shot to compensate for variations in ambient sunlight. The camera automatically adjusted its focus, depth of field, and shutter speed. Toward the end of the movie, Mike realized that two of the sepals were not going to separate on their own, so he "popped' them apart between two frames. Enjoy!

  • That's nice of you to say! To be honest it was a little frustrating, because the top and left sepals wouldn't separate... I had to do it artificially, with my fingers.
