5 years ago Costa-Bazooka was only a passing thought that Bruce LaPierre had while visiting the lush country of Costa Rica. For the past 19 months he has been diligently working to bring that dream to life. Bruce has envisioned a multicultural rock and roll explosion boiling under the surface of this friendly, inspiring Latin American country.

Bruce along with his children, Stefan and Tiffany, have been involved in New England's biggest concert series LocoBazooka, for the past 6 years, so the thought of bringing a few American bands together with local Costa Rican bands didn't seem that far fetched considering the history of his career in the music business.
After all, dealing with up to 60 bands a day, 6 stages, 20,000 attendants and the likes of Kid Rock, Alice in Chains, Limpbizkit, System of a Down, Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath, this would seem pretty easy. Let's say there was definitely more than a language barrier to deal with. Bruce's 30 years experience in the music industry would prove invaluable for this extraordinary task at hand.

After meeting Roberta Felix, the vision would soon included "Robbie's" foundation. The Roberta Felix Foundation is a Costa Rican non-profit organization that operates a center of integrated services for handicapped children who live in abject poverty.

Bruce knew it was time to put his plan into action and this cause was the motivation.

The indoor and outdoor venue of Rancho Allegre in Damas was scouted and is 10 miles from the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio and a short 15-20 minute flight from the capital San Jose.

It's local fan fair include lush rainforest canopy tours, horse back riding, zip line adventures, white water rafting, biological private trails, deep sea fishing, ATV excursions and some of the top rated beaches for surfing. What better place to bring bus and plane loads of musicians, fans and tourists together?

Local excitement has exploded since Robbie received the National Humanitarian Award from the President of Costa Rica this past November 1, 2007 in front of national press and television.

The foundation and the Costa-Bazooka Team invite you to become a part of this ground breaking event.

As a participant, there are a wide range of sponsorship packages available to suit every budget and every need, as well as travel information if you would like to attend.

Visit our websites for more information and for online tickets.

With this story we hope to gain your support and look forward to your involvement this year for Costa-Bazooka 2008.
