This is my video for promoting 'Gharana', my own radio programme on dutch music-radiostation De Concertzender www.concertzender.nl . Initially the programme focused on North Indian raga artists, hence the name 'Gharana', but soon (of course) I decided to include artists of the Southern Carnatic tradition as well, although this is not stated as such in the clip. 'Gharana' is a 90-minute programme broadcast four times a year. In evry single episode I focus on one particular artist. In this clip I present the artists that are featured in the first three episodes: Patiala Kasur gharana-singer Kaushiki Chakrabarty, Mewati gharana-violinist Kala Ramnath and Senia Maihar gharana-sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee. In the programme they tell about their music, their gurus and their musical career.
I've created a Facebook-profile on my radioprogramme 'Gharana'. If you like this programme, feel free to join there as a member, see:

Hi, thanks for your response and appreciation. Glad you like the programme's intro-music. It's from the great jugalbandi-(duet-)album 'Samwad' by Purbayan Chatterjee on sitar and Kala Ramnath on violin (Sense World Music 039, C 2004). By the way the 'outtro' of the programme (not included here in this video) is also taken from 'Samwad'.
