Some time after 6 pm on December 30, 2011, it was reported that 2 pedestrians were struck by a vehicle on Western Avenue near Hayes Court.
**UPDATE 1/2/12**
BRATTLEBORO -- A Wilmington man is reportedly being held following an accident on Western Avenue in which two pedestrians were struck by a small pickup truck.
According to the Brattleboro Police Department, officers from the department and Vermont State Police responded to Western Avenue after two pedestrians were hit by a small pickup truck. After investigation, the driver, 44-year-old Richard Brueckner of Wilmington, was found to be "operating his vehicle while intoxicated in a grossly negligent manner."
Bruecker was taken into custody and will appear in court at a later date to answer to the offenses.
