My version of this old-time song, sort of conglomerated of bits from Hobart Smith, Clarence Ashley, John Snipes and Dink Roberts. Played on an 1896 S.S. Stewart American Princess banjo; tuning is gDGCD, approximately.

Now you can buy my band's debut CD, "Delicious Moments," at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/SausageGrinder or visit our website at http://www.sausagegrindermusic.com.

  • Nice playing. Is that an SS Stewart Universial Favorite?

  • @blogue3800 Close, it's an American Princess -- 1896.

  • I am a grandson of Hobart Smith, and you therefore must know who and what I have seen in my life. Not to mention, I am also a son of Wiley J. Smith. I must say that you are probably the best at this that I personally have heard. Thanks for keeping the style alive !!!

  • The fact that banjochris isn't famous as, say, the president, shows that the world is seriously off track! I'm just knocked out by this guys stuff.
