Love the Huddersfield accent, am from London but been to Huddersfield MANY times and yes this is just what the Huddersfield accent is like!

in th etopside of Mirfield shading into Spen Valley Roberttown/Liversedge I used to say and locals still do say ' Weer's ta frum? adn 'Wiv just cum darn frum Huddersfild terseet ffoitball'..
long draw our of the 'eer' sounds and in some words like football sound a double 'oo' as a 'ooi' but if talking about sootup th echimney a double oo is sounded as 'suit'.
Mirfield/Spen is totally diffferent from Huddersfield/Leeds but similar to Dewsbury and Batley.
Maybe t'dialect developed in't vales?

I have lived in yorkshire all my life and I have never met anyone with a yorkshire accent, nor london cockney accents. Only scottish and irish. I don't have any kind of accent either. Apart from I say scones instead of "skones"

Is it me or is there little difference between your accent and Middlesbrough accent ? May be it's just my ears, but seems difficult to me tell which is which....
