I freaking loved this show when I was a kid. Heh, I even thought Jeff and Jodi would make a great couple. This sure brings back memories. Damn, Jeff has a beautiful singing voice! Too bad they don't make more shows like this for kids.

@WynneL Yeah this was a very popular educational kid's show in the 80s. I grew up with this show in the 80s...I remember when my best friend didn't want to leave playing outside at daycare in the evening time. His parents would come and say, "time to go," and he didn't want to leave. Then I remember is dad saying, "You'll miss Special", and then he'd zip right out! Good times!

Also, people shy away from things that are awkward or not worth watching. So sam doing his rounds was an excuse or an indirect way of telling Jeff "you need more practice"

Jodie was like a sister to Jeff or best friend mentor. Like a mother to Jeff. If this show was for adults-- a romance could have developed--but this show was for kids!!

The blue could represent Sam as he always seems dismal..nice but

Yellow ball could represent Muffy as she always seems so cheery.

When Jeff failed his juggling act in front of Sam at the start, Sam going off to do his rounds was a way to tell Jeff that he was not good enough at Juggling to be seen by any audience. Or a person will watch Jeff juggle when he is very good at it.

A fascinating thought but saddening:

Jeff is shown juggling 3 balls--

3 balls to represent 3 of the people he cares about the most--Jodie, Muffy, Sam.

The pink ball could represent Jodie as she always wears the pink jumpsuit...

The blue ball could represent the way Jeff feels--sad or blue.

The yellow ball could represent the way his 3 friends always make him feel--content and happy.

@callixandrus - yeah it's strange, I was just a little kid, maybe 5 -7 and I also had a crush on Jeff. Now of course I don't but It's weird that I did back when I was a child, being so young.
