Walking across the Bridge over the river Kwai. Taking the train across the bridge as well. This bridge was built by prisoners of World War 2 by the force of the Japanese. They built about 400 kms of track into the Burma border to carry supplies and troops into Burma to maintain allied forces. They had to work even though they were starving or sick thats why so many of the prisoners died because of starvation, Sickness, and etc. I also visited the Kanchanaburi [Don Rak] Cemetery where many of the prisoners of World War 2 were buried. I was very sad while walking through the cemetery grounds because I feel bad for those who died. At the end of the film you can see the signal man blowing his whistle and waving a red flag to warn the people to move to the side to let the train pass over the bridge. Then he shows the green flag to tell the driver you may cross the bridge once the bridge is clear.
