Me playing the piece on guitar. Too bad I can't play it perfectly yet. Maybe I'll post a better version later if I practice more, and if I get an electric guitar. Since people keep asking for the tabs, it's in my website at:

  • I must say thank you for the tabs, from what I can tell after trying it, they're dead on with the actual piece by Nujabes. Im still kind of curious as to how you found out about the artist's detuning. I was still sort of shocked by how old you after reading the forum.

  • I heard a low C# (lower than the normal low E in standard tuning) at measure two in the original piece, so it must be detuned somehow. (Or it could have been a 7-string guitar, but since I don't have one of those, I decided to do a 6-string guitar tab). I tried to see if a drop C# tuning would work, but it was too difficult to play. In the forum it was suggested to try to detune all the strings down 3 half steps. And so I tried that, and it work out.

  • been lookin for a good clip of this song and finally found yours.. but it looks like I need some tuning before I play.. wut is the basic tuning? half steps down? please fill me in!! btw great job with the song.. i know the tempo is a little challenging!

  • You detune each string 3 half steps down (if you want to be in the same key as the OST).

  • i really wanna play this song some day..

how long did it take you to learn it?

  • It took me a couple of days just to know what to play. But playing it smoothly and in tempo, I'm still working on that.

  • Agree, not the best performance but the right chords! Thanks a lot!

  • And don't use nylon strings. Please.

    Get Martin acoustics.

  • You got all the notes write. Kudos.

    Now redo it. Lol.

  • Even though this isn't a perfect play, you're closer than all of the other videos out there. I hope you do a re recording, because that's pretty good.

  • r.i.p nujabes

  • que the dope ass drum beat haha, very well done keep up the progress.

  • Thank you so much for all your information!!! I would have never thought I could play this song, but after 4 hours with your tab and my classical from Okinawa, I can almost keep up with you and sounds like a dream! I tuned the way it said C#,F#,B,E,G#,C#,, and that sounded right on! Very Slack Key! I really like your site, lotta good music and hard work. Thank you sooooo much! Mahalo Nui Loa!

ps. this song has been ingrained in me for the past 5 or so years so that made it easy to pluck

  • very good cover man. The only part that is wrong is the chord at 0:19

On the 3rd string, it should always stay on the 4th fret. It makes a better chord. I play everything by ear so I know it's right =)

    Other than that 5 stars!

  • niceeee

  • Your playing is very good but try keeping up with the tempo !
