One of my favourite scenes from "Lost".
And it pwnes.
It's short, it's punctual... Supremely well acted... It's got tension. It's got good directing. Excellent photograph. The lines are great - solid, and have layers of meaning, teasing with thoughts behind actors' gestures.
The characters are above stereotypes, yet do correspond to archetypes perfectly. A perfect mix.
Photography is brilliant. It carries a strong, visible signature, without the stylization making it unrealistic.
The music is subtle and follows the momentum of the story.
Directing and camera works are simple, yet brilliant. The director obviously has a great eye for interesting details. He's either good thinking on his feet - or is good at planning things out and spent time rehearsing the scene with the actors and then he made notice of all the good moments from all angles, and then made the camera framework decisions.... either that - or he made these actors act through the scene for dozens of times.... there'd probably been two cameras at work. But that's tops. There wouldn't have been room for more.
The script writing is also excellent for it seeming non-linear. You don't get the feeling that Sayid would try a move on them so soon. You also don't know what Keamy will do, although Kevin Durand makes promises of all kinds of violence outbursts, even insanity... hat's off, gents! This was brilliantly imagined and executed!

  • Keamy is the man, too bad he died in both timelines.

  • @AwesomeNightman

    Yeah.

His character got so little time on screen, yet he made strong impressions every time.. You always want to know more about him and what he'll do... and although his intentions and motives are bizzarily clear - his methods, and tricks keep being interesting.

He brings the whole Western element to the series, which is cool.

The rest of the bad-asses have emotional luggage and other problems - but he's a shark that keeps other sharp. A great addition to the crew.

  • When I saw this, I scared my roommate by screaming "AAAAAAAH! KEAMY!" so damn loud.

That's the sign of a true Lost fan, in my opinion. Haha.
