This is a replica I made of Ash's chainsaw used in Evil Dead II. This is the version before he modifies it to fit his stump. I made this version so that the engine could be retained and still run (as the stump version must have the engine removed to fit your hand in) in fact with a real bar and chain fitted this will still cut wood!
Made from the same model saw as used in the film and with a modified handle as the prop was. Blade is plastic and the chain is a bicycle chain fixed to it - no external moving parts so pretty LARP safe.
In addition there are electronic SFX in the lid with a speaker in the fake side vent so that you can use the prop indoors and still have sounds without all the exhaust fume problems etc.

  • But how do you put it on your hand??

  • @yaytez you don't, this is a replica of the saw at the point in the film he uses it to cut his hand off.

  • Would you be willing to make a Leatherface version of this chainsaw and if so how much would you want for it including shipping?

  • @B1Kobe0824 - Would depend on where in the world you are and what function you want. Do you know that a company called NECA made licensed (nonworking) replicas of the TCM saw, you can still get em on Ebay etc.

  • where did you get the plastic blade? i need one for a movie prop chainsaw im making. plz do respond!

PS. does the plastic hurt if you were to touch it while revving? thanks

  • @detroituntilidie - I made the bar myself, its some 2mmx35mm aluminium strip from B&Q (as a spine for strength) and then clad in plasticard to make the shape. The chain is bicycle chain glued around the outside and is non-moving.

  • groovy.....

  • @Ciderwinder I'm in the U.S., Fort Hood, Texas to be exact and yeah I know of NECA but that chainsaw is rare as only so many were made. I would want the chainsaw to function as you have it on the video I would just like the body style and color to reflect Leatherface's chainsaw everything else could stay the same.
