  • i was once gripped by the same paramilitary ideology of so many young lads on both sides of the division (thus my username) But i'm planning on joining the RIR regardless of what my catholic family say. its time we grew up people.the IRA are just drug dealers killing innocent people. We are far better off in the UK than in Ireland. We need to unify and move on together as one and stop all this hatred, we live in the past too much!

  • Wonderful old regiments, what a pity successive governments robbed them of their old identities. Inniskillings, Ulster Rifles, and Irish Fusiliers.

An even greater pity Eire didn't keep the original Royal Irish Regiment, Connaughts, Munster, Leinsters and Dublin's. traditions, names and battle honours going following independence.

  • @1888FenianBhoy I have so much respect for you my friend, I grew up in an area that really doesn't like any authority and gangs reign supreme under the guise of "religious duty" - it's just an excuse for them to sell drugs and run brothels round here; there's no religious substance to it at all, it's just organised crime. Best of luck to you mate, hope everything goes really well for you!

  • In response to @25Busterdog's comment regarding the RoI keeping the names and traditions of those wonderful old Irish regiments following independence.

Of course they couldn't have kept the 'Royal' prefix or 'Royalist' devices on their Colours, badges, etc., though they could have kept the Regiments going as the vibrant Irish fighting units they were. Just my humble opinion.

Very few soldiers are political, they fight for their Regiment and their friends within the regiment.

  • nice melody

  • @25Busterdog

Why would the REPUBLIC of Ireland still keep the ROYAL prefix? Would kind of defeat the purpose of INDEPENDENCE, wouldn't it?

  • @1888FenianBhoy my people came from county down in the 1840s like so many others

if you can get out of there, and make it to Canada you'll find it a Celtic nation.

just look at the place names on a map

even the french in Quebec are originally Bretons.

we are a nation larger and more beautiful than all the dreams of the ancestors and the future is ours.

all those old hatreds and fears will slip off you

    your children will thank you.

  • @JCistGottMitUns Haha thanks. I'm into politics so i guess thats why. Yes i agree the government is becoming friendlier towards Catholics. For example, a 500 year old law is or WAS abolished meaning that Catholics can now become King/Queen. For the French Monarchy to return you'd need to wipe out Sarkozy and his band of monkeys. And convince the people a Monarchy is better, for Schools in France seem biased against any sort of Monarchy.

  • @OfficialRJLextro Oh, no sir, there is still royal French blood, but theyre in hiding. EWTN even did a documentary on that, the great monarch returning. I think that the Pope is starting to make friends with the Royal Family, or at least with Queen Elizabeth herself, plus he's making the Anglican ordinate so maybe things are looking up. You seem quite intelligent for a youtuber, kudos!

  • @JCistGottMitUns Okay. The French government is controlled by Zionists, Sarkozy himself is a Zionist globalist. They will never bring the monarchy back. And to who? All of Louis relatives are dead or so lost now through integration no DNA sample will match. If you mean the British Royal family to returning to the Catholic Church I'm all for it but good luck because James II tried it and was forced to abdicate.

  • @OfficialRJLextro Yes, but I have this idealistic idea of restoring the French monarchy. We wont have to answer to the senate, because we are planning on secession (look up The League of the South) just as you mentioned. First the united southern states will leave the corrupt 'union', and then people such as myself will lobby for the new confederacy to submit to the Crown. Then begins my next project of convincing the Royal Family to return to the Catholic Church... :D

  • @Kaiser3945 You are obviously unaware that the "disbanded" Irish Regiments were told they were out a job but that the Free State government was looking for experienced soldiers. They went back to Ireland & lorries were waiting to meet them. One of them told me 50 yrs ago "We defeated the IRA, we didn't feck about like the British we just shot the bastards". Read Kenneths Griffiths "Curious Journey" a very pro IRA book with a series of fawning interviews with IRA veterans for confirmation.
