Watch the National Geographic show "Banged Up Abroad".It features Billy Hayes telling his true story about how LOT of things in the movie are SO inaccurate.I'm Turkish and some of the comments here are silly. You're talking about how people like me are horrible just because we are Turkish, yet all you do is hate in the comments.Do you guys know who payed for this movie by the way? People that don't like Turks cause of their "tail pain" cause we ruled most of the countries for more than 400yrs

Actually I like this movie a lot, but that doesn't mean that I believe that all people from Turkey are bad or disgusting people. I enjoy this film as a piece of art and entertainment, but I know that Alan Parker took many liberties from the book. And actually while I love cinema I must say that is ridiculous to take a movie so seriously. I love Midnight Express, but I know that Turkey is a great country as well as a great culture.
