"Playing For Change" is a great concept and awesome music!
Thanks & praises to filmaker Mark Johnson and thanks to all the wonderful, talented street performers throughout the world who were involved with this project or not.
A co-worker and I were caring for one of our patients, Bill Moyers Journal(10/27/08)just happen to on in the back ground, neither of us paying much attention to it. When the show got to the "Stand By Me" part we, simultaneously stopped and watched, not moving, until the end. The beautiful, other end of the spectrum, from the last thing that stopped me in my tracks, 9/11. I'd buy 20 DVD's if someone could tell me where to find it. Thank you PBS/Bill Moyers for sharing the teasures you find.
The deaf trumpet player is so inspiring. I will be buying this DVD and any music CDs from it. I first heard about this on the Bill Moyers show on PBS. He had a short excerpt from the DVD and the song "Stand By Me". That music video gut punched me and I wept. Those images of musicians all over the world taking part in the song, just overwhelmed me. Thank you for posting. Thank You.
