Chinese new year's eve (Feb.2, 2011) in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, southwestern part of China.
Burning incense at buddist or taoist temples is a long-held tradition in China. It is a ritual by which people pray for fortune or health or whatever selfish or unselfish wishes.
But the size of the incense sticks is just ridiculous. it's crazy.
I just realized it was no accident that the Chinese invented gunpowder.we are a bunch of born pyromaniacs.
