Otis Traction elevator @ BB&T Building Roanoke VA

This is the elevator at the BB&T building in Roanoke VA. It is a very nice otis. Notice the elevator stuck at 10.

I was never quite sure, do all elevators blink the indicator when out of service or is it an Otis thing?

I don't know, but if you watch my epic otis fail, you will notice that its indicator is blinking as well and it is original from the 1960s.

They do buzz. I know some of the Series 1, Gen2's and some of older elevators flash the indicator. On one of my videos (Otis elevator H at UAMS video) it shows the the third elevator was on nudge mode. What I can do is when I go back there or get on an Otis, I record the elevator going in nudge mode.

I've never seen an indicator blink in nudge mode, Otis or otherwise, they usually just buzz.

Normally on Otis elevators the elevator is on nudge mode when the indicator blinks.
