Vincent Montana, Jr. blends the spirit and tradition of Christmas into a highly sophisticated and smooth jazz style. This Yuletide work of art offers classic Christmas standards in a soothing laid-back feel showcasing velvety vibes, twinkling chimes, hypnotic congas, funky bass and plenty of solos by the Sextet members.

Although he is best known for his integral role in the dance phenomena (Salsoul Orchestra & MFSB), initially Montana's primary musical interest was jazz. In the 50s & 60s he played back-up for many legendary artists who performed in Philadelphia such as Charlie Parker, Sarah Vaughn, Buddy de Franco, Clifford Brown and Red Garland to name a few. As a session musician for Cameo Parkway and Chancellor Records, Montana can be heard on countless recordings by the likes of Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, Fabian and more.

The part I love about this is not only it has that "only once a year" vibe to it, but it doesn't sound over processed or overbearing, it sounds like the type of smooth jazz you would listen to as your cruising down the street! Love it!
