i found this song looking for a song from the game earthbound, i looked up 'frankys theme jazz' because i wanted a jazz version of the song. Instead i found this! and i like this a whole bunch more!

This is definitely upbeat for James Last. One of the most intense orchestral instrumentals I have ever heard is kamarinskaja by him. Unfortunately no one has uploaded this masterpiece to Youtube. It starts off slow then just explodes half way through.

@john54542 The track you refer to is on the album Russland Erinnerungen, but to my knowledge is not captured on video anywhere. Shame as Hansi had a habit of "exploding" some tracks which was truely breathtaking. He has slowed down now, still he is nearly 82!
