I was gigging on a TV talk show which Diz was a guest....During a 2 minute commercial break, the house band plays, the leader points at me to take a solo.....Well....I played everything I knew in 2 minutes..... At the end of the show, Diz came up complimented me and asked me to play on his new album. DANG !!! I was sooo excited, I called MAMA PIZZI in Boston, told her the good news. She PROUDLY SCREAMED with DELIGHT and promptly asked if Dizzy GILLESPIE was an Italian boy??? Hahahahahaha
