He may not think he should be 'labelled ' a trance DJ/producer but the stuff he plays and makes definately has a trance sound.
HE says he just plays and makes the music he likes, that happens to be trance.
I read sometime last year his favourite song at the time was Hydroid - The Eternal (Re-Locate mix) which is a massive trance choon.

one of the best pvd interviews i've seen! i do agree with shonquiz and RichieEastside on the labelling bit but on the other hand, it was the Crasher kids and the trance ravers all over the world that got him where he is now..i can't see prog,techno,house or electro listeners being pvd-minded.and yes,7 ways was not trance-like but he's bets LP (out there and back) is still considered the best trance LP ever!no?

I heard Paul gave the finger to his fans in Australia recently.
As far as this interview goes. It's really well done. He goes into great detail.

Me too, he just makes electronic music. I never liked how he got pigeonholed like that. On the other hand, his music does combine all elements of electronica, however the trance influence is extremely obvious.

I doubt he even cares...he's a millionaire either way...as long as you're getting paid, it doesn't really matter, at least it wouldn't to me.
