The lighting is weird, I talk fast, and my focus is all kinds of gone. Regardless, this is a long build up to a short, nonsensical poem I wrote a few weeks ago. I started with the line "The night blongs to tired travellers and reckless teens" one night when I was in a very morose sort of mood and feeling as though I were meant to be in a smokey cafe, detesting my company. I let that sit for a few days and gradually realised the hilarity of it all and started up again one afternoon while feeling particularly chipper. I finished it within 10 minutes. When you're on a roll, you're standing on bread. Or something like that. I recorded it in a voice memo on my phone to text to my grandparents (how hip are they, right?) and my grandma was in exhaltations. She immediately wanted to hear it in italian as well. So, I spent the next few hours attempting a translation. It was very mediocre until my lovely friend Luigi gave me his assistance and now it all makes sense. Well, as much as it does in english.
For those of you who don't catch all I'm saying.... here.
The night belongs to tired travellers and reckless teens
But the dew will settle on just about anything
And in the morning the world'll be shimmering with promises of sunny days and hapless ways
And people rise when a robin sings
It's just one of those things
The weary and the restless and the chronicled masses
Take shelter in darkness and hide from the passes
Of overstuffed, overcooked Thanksgiving lunches
No thanks, no jam for me
I don't even like cranberries
They're either sour or they're sweet
Why can't they meet in the middle somewhere?
And we've come to the eternal question
Somewhere left of centre but right of left
Where god trailed off in her ultimate quest
She must have met a man...
Distraction!
It's always the same thing
You try to build an empire and along comes a pheromone
Just begging you to chase it to the end of the horizon and over the edge of the world
Oh well, that's how it goes
Per me, no grazie, non voglio marmellata,
a me non piacciono i mirtilli rossi veramente.
Beh secondo me, cosi è la vita...no?
Lol. Look at the tags. These are ridiculous.

I love that song...and never heard it before.
Your drawings are very artistic, outta this world =]
I especially liked the the couple walking very close together under the umbrella, she looks so sexy and curvy and he has his arm around her.
Your kind of poem is ok, I am not sure what you mean sometimes, buy it's ok, but I love when you speak Italian, you look so cute! Italian is a beautiful language, so expressive and passionate.
Ciao bella

@cefaro Isn't it great?! I adore early Mina songs. And late ones..and the ones in the middle. Lol. She's my favourite singer by far. I'm so glad you like the drawings! The one you mention is one that I prefer as well. I think ALL women should be curvy. It's so much more appealing. I've written the poem out in my description. Maybe that would help you to infer my meaning? It IS mostly nonsense though. So, no worries. I'm glad you enjoyed the italian bit. I really enjoy speaking it. Thanks!
