This is the first time I've grown globe artichokes, so it's mostly trial and error at this stage. This plant allowed me to harvest a nice sized artichoke, the one you see in the video, and is pushing out two smaller artichokes as we speak. I have another globe artichoke next to this one that is just starting to show. I plan to harvest the next artichoke a little sooner, as I fear I may have let this one open a bit too much? The Arizona heat sure makes things more complicated, although I've heard after you harvest you should cover the plant with it's own leaves to protect it from the sun, and then not too long after the heat dies down the artichoke will start to grow again and produce for about 3 years or so.
Would love to read any thoughts or tips anyone has regarding the art of growing globe artichokes :)
Looks good! I love artichokes. Wish I had better gardening skills as I would love to grow them. If you end up with too many, I'll buy em! :)

@eydieaz I only wish I had the problem of having too many :) Being our first year gardening, we are still in the trial and error phase, lol If we get a flush of 'em you'll be the first to know :)

wow they have great color leaves, i have mine in full sun and look like there getting a little yellow, maybe too much sun?

@whatweshouldknow Thanks! The yellow could be from not enough water combined with the sun/heat? I've read that they really liked to be soaked, and love morning sun with afternoon shade, at least here in AZ.
