If the Brits don't care about their long-gone empire, Lilibeth might a well drop her overseas titles. Ironically, though, most of the opposition comes from the former colonies. Monarchists in Australia, NZ, and Canada still act as if they were.

For the record, we are a poor model of the US. After buying us from Spain, they indoctrinated us to be just like America...

For your information, most Brits don't care about the Commonwealth or the long gone Empire. Dozens of former British colonies have become republics, the only reason why NZers have not done so is that it hasn't chosen to do so - yet. Nobody in Britain is stopping them.

Anyway, if and when they do become a republic, they won't be looking to the Philippines - a poor imitation of the US - as a model.
