I think that, even cutted out like this, those were the most inteligent 1:40 minutes I've ever listened in my whole entire life.

Its like he took those words out of my lips.

Exactly how I feel about middle school to college years.... Why do we need to memorize so many things about the world, when we naturally forget knowledge anyways? I know how to speak and write The human mind is only so limited in it's capacity to hold information. I want to enjoy my education, but school keeps taking the fun out of it. People who do well in school tend to enjoy it as much as they can, I believe. Grad. school at least I'm focused on my major. ( struggling...Physics Major)

I'm studying the characteristics of minerals because I have an exam tomorrow, just like his daughter. My university has apparently a new education system that would help the students, but it doesn't. It is the same, they just changed the way they grade the students.

I know this might sound out of the subject but... Humans never forget anything, we remember everything. But its hard to find that memory in our brains.

So the kid growing up in rural Kansas in a public ed. system that wants to teach Creationism and with fundamentalist parents who take the kid to Sunday school and forbid PBS has him/herself to blame for disliking Biology? Environment determines growth.

There are more children that can shake superstition and embrace science with the help of good schools than can when left to their own devices. Your system produces 1 scientist, the other produces, say, 50. WHY would you turn down the 50?

    I don't agree with that.

Smart people don't base themselves on simply what's in front of them, they instinctively look around them.

In other words, they don't just follow their parents word and treat it like gold, they look everywhere and form their own.

If someone just follows their parents word and fails, they have no one to blame but themselves and their lack of using their own mind.

The whole point is there are wonderfully intelligent children who don't have the great advantage of having a parent like Michio Kaku will be disillusioned and leave science. They will think they have seen the true face of the discipline and leave thanks to the educational system currently in place. This isn't natural selection, it's class warfare.

The learning system is great if you ask me.

Let idiots be idiots, and let the smart who breakaway from the crowd be rewarded.

Wouldn't have it any other way, keep education the way it is.
