That is a great little traction layout! What did you use for the street-running section?

where does one find parts and instructions for converting the Bachmann trolley to overhead power?

nice job,i'm working on a 18'x6' in H.O. scale with live over head. Seeing videos like your and others on here have given me a better insight on how to do.

I'm impressed! The overhead looks great and it runs as good as it looks!

To make the streets, I used instant roadbed, a sticky black rubber like material commercially available. I laid the track on that (it holds it in place), then finished the street asphalt look with foam sheets cut to size. Between the rails I used paving strips (they fit exactly in n gauge) from Woodland Scenics.

its relatively simple do-it-yourself project. Just run a regular insulated wire from the positive side of the motor to the trolley pole base. You can disconnect the lead (usually a red wire) from the trucks, where it has been picking up the power. Leave the black wire to the other side of the trucks, that is the ground.

The roadside trolley poles are a little out of scale as they are HO. Rich Eaton in Portland used to make them in N, but not any more. Thanks.
