I've had many requests to redo this from the original live version, since it was cut short. After the many tragedies and wars over the years, the Fort Hood Massacre and with Veterans Day tomorrow, I've finally taken on the request. It's been almost 3 years since I last performed this in it's entirety.

Please pray for those who are serving, who have served and who gave their lives so that we may live ours. Please pray for the families of these heroes who may be separated from their loved ones...

My love was in the army for many years and now I kinda lost him mentally. It isnt save anymore for me and the kids to stay with him. Listening to this song reminds me of the hope, the dedication to him, the love, being afraid but also staying so strong.. it stil hurts. I remember the last time he got home. I was so happy! But soon I yelled at him.. 'I wished u had just lost your legs over there instead!' So horrible of me, but I just wished I still had my husband..

It will NEVER be okay! He was so far away!! And now he is gone!!! I didn't even get to say good bye. The only thing I have left are our two children, I'll finally get to meet them in 4 months, oh how I wish you were still here to experience this with me baby!!! im listennig to this song for about half an hour i think , im a soldier myself servinf for another country and i got deployed myself to afghanistan and iraq some people say iam a kind off a tough guy but right now im crying.......

Man you wrote a hymn for every soldier on this planet , keep going with your music i sincerely hope you will never be deployed again to any warzone cause soldiers around the world need your music.
