East Dorset Antiquarian Society had an extensive Archaeology dig at Worth Matravers, over in the Purbecks, Dorset.

Lilian Ladle was the Site Director, and with her guidance, the EDAS voluntary group of amateur archaeologists made extensive digs on the site, finding history dating back to the neolithic era.

The site held open days which received a great response from many amateur, and professional archaeologists, including a visit from Andrew Selkirk, Editor in Chief of Current Archaeology magazine.

  • They have actually discovered 8 more burials in the last few weeks, they believe them to be post Roman times.
