  • Which type is the twin appearing at 1:28 ?

Looks like a Howard Hughes's made aircraft...

  • I wish I knew. But I can tell you that it was one loud mother...

  • @fighter0w1 You're right. The Pratt & Whitney 18 cyln double wasp R2800 is a monster of an engine, and was first used on the F4U Corsair fighter bombers, later on other famous fighters like the F6F hellcat, P47 thunderbolt and of course the F7F Tigercat. Wish I could go watch these beautiful birds in action.

  • @FiliberkeNys Grumman F7F Tigercat

  • The plane at 1:28 is called the F7F Tigercat (Big Bossman). Those two engines that are there are called R-2800 and I believe are made by Pratt & Whitney. Absolutely a gorgous sound and MONSTER Power!!!!! And if any one was at Airventure 2007, that plane was there and flew.

  • A flying Tigercat?!? Wow, wish I had been there to see it!!

  • I was there it was awesome except the 3 pilots killed
