Tipu Sultan, known as the dreaded 'Tiger of Mysore', was a legend during his lifetime and is still regarded as an enlightened ruler in India. During the late eighteenth century he bitterly and effectively opposed British rule in southern India, posing a grave threat to the East India Company. It took almost forty years, and most of the Company's resources, before Mysore was added to the areas of British-ruled India.

@nastyboyneeraj I too agree that tipu sultan was an indian warrior as am indian... then why the generations of tipu sultan is leading a life of misery as compared to princely generation of rajasthan? I ask why? Is this the way to treat the great warrior generation of India and fighting a case in court...why justice is being delayed to them, why the space around the palace of tipu sultan is being converted into residential areas.. why? very much disgusting...find it yourself, very sad...

@TheNasheeth You don't see any Hindus complaining about Akbar, Tipu Sultan, Jehangir, Bahadur Shah Zafar, These were the True Muslims of India that made India Proud by not being Partial to either Muslims or Hindus, They dedicated their Lives for their Nation, Like a True Muslim & an Indian.

Indian Muslims are the True Muslims because they are Humble, Non Violent, Friendly & Caring. Most other Muslims from other Nations have lost turned away from the True Message of Islam - Peace & Love...

@Cphari DId you read this knowledge in English, because the British openly admit they wrote the History of India to keep the Indian's at eachother's throats, and two prevent the power of Islam returning. These two things would be accomplished by over exagerating or outright fabricating what happened during those periods.

@calvingmail Tipu is not an Indian hero at all. He is a Martyr and a great Muslim warrior. I don't mind you admiring him but you admire him for the wrong reasons, you neglect his faith. Heros are for hollywood/bollywood, they live for 200 years like a sheep, you should know that. The price of freedom is death, now that is something to honor and admire.

Sultan Tipu is the true Indian Muslim and my brother in faith but you, I don't know about that. You seem to judge us all Muslims from other nations. Who are you trying to please other then your brothers in faith?

@forgottenmemories63 I agree that Indian muslims are patriotic and awesome. But let's get history straight. All the kings you mentioned were bigots who killed their Hindu and Christian subjects. Both Akbar and Tipu Sultan were self styled Ghazis i.e religious warriors. Akbar killed 30,000 in his siege of Chittor. Jehangir tortured Guru Arjan of Sikhs. Tipu killed Mangalorean catholics en masse. Let's get some perspective folks.
