The Iovilus app does NOT work. Unless your iphone/smartphone were custom built-in with high-tech EMF Censors that concentrate on these fixed high-EMF energies. On that note, this has nothing to do with the real ovilus. The real ovilus has all the components to read so. But whether or not you are recieving actual paranormal activity or not depends on the actual encounter etc. Do NOT let these smuck businesses lead you on for this $ Scam. Uhmhm Apple

You're absolutely adorable. I bought iovilus tonight. I think it's quite rubbish but I was eating chicken and chinese hot mustard and it said mustard 3 TIMES! Lol!
One thing I found is if you leave it in one position it will use the same words over and over.

@ohgoditsheragain Good idea - if the app doesn't work when you put your phone in airplane mode, then it probably isn't picking up 'EMF' - I assume the antennae are powered down or disconnected in airplane mode - the motion sensors would work - they are the things that let you the games that are controlled by tilting the iPhone.. "No phone, radio, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth signals are emitted from iPhone and Global Positioning System (GPS) reception is turned off" (Apple)

EMF is (normally, I don't know what ghost hunters think it is) an electromagnetic field. This includes radio waves like those used by cell phones, but also visible light, X-rays, infra-red and ultra-violet. I would still wonder if this app really does anything with EMF, or if it just says random words if you move it around - it says in the blurb that it uses 'sensors' in the iPhone but it's not clear if it means the motion sensors or not.

@ripporter Right, but if it used 'sensors' or the signal detector of the phone, then it wouldn't work when I switched it to airplane mode...
