@greenshades1234 That's exactly what the Surefit slot is there for. The slot allows you to fit the chin strap along the INSIDE of the helmet, which is sometimes necessary to get the correct fit for youth players who have very small heads. If you watch some of our fitting videos for youth helmets here on YouTube, you can see exactly how it's done.

To use the pump on this helmet it require to be lubricated in schutt glycerin and I cant find it in the uk so is there any were I can get it or will i be able to use the pump with out the glycerin?

@shav1665 Any glycerin should do, if you can't get Schutt glycerin. Just try not to use petroleum based products. Using something like Vaseline will decrease the effective life of the air liner.

Do you guys re-condition helmets if we send it in? We have an older Schutt helmet and was thinking about reconditioning it for our other son who will play Pop Warner football.

@RowMenRob We do but be aware that if the helmet is older than 10 years we can't recondition it, as we follow the new NAERA policies regarding older helmets. Contact your local Schutt rep to get the process started or contact Schutt Reconditioning directly: Toll Free: 800-248-0019

We measured my son's head at 21 1/2 inches. We just recently purchased a size medium in the Schutt Air XP adult helmet. He is a sophomore in high school and is planning to play football his junior and senior year. The medium fits snug, but we were thinking of exchanging it for a large. Suggestions??

@RowMenRob We can't recommend trying to fit a player in a slightly larger size helmet to let him "grow into it" or to extend it's useful life. We know it can be a burden to buy a helmet and then face the prospect of buying another one the next season. But, without a doubt, the most important aspect of a helmet's performance, is that it be properly fitted. A helmet should be snug so it sounds like the Medium is the right choice.
