Hi, i can compare the normal GS only with the Moto Morini. Never driven the Adventure GS. For driving offroad you need the Adventure, but this one is more heavy and too heavy for offroad. On street are both very good. The MM is more the beast with emotion (120hp) and the GS is more comfortable. Interesting is the MM when you want to drive offroad also. Very good agile for a big bike.

@Hoshibandit aha ok . one question. How would you compare the gs and the moto morini?
-
Nope dude, this is a myth. My MM needs 6,5litre /100km and the GS1200 6litre /100km. I can compare it very good, because i have the Granpasso and a friend the GS. Btw, we don't drive slow. Sometimes on the limit. then you can add to both 0,5 litre. That's all and think about it, the MM has basic 27litre tank and with full tank it has only 225kg.

@Hoshibandit but isnt it the moto morini that drinks gas like an alcoholic?

1200GS is a good one, but not the best. KTM looks terrible, but easier to handle offroad. The best one is Moto Morini Grandpasso 1200. Less weight than BMW and KTM and the most powerful Enduro you can get. Btw, the sound of Moto Morini is fantastic and emotional.

I have heard of other BMW Adventure bikes breaking the swing arms and leaving their riders stranded. One expert put it down to the alloy work hardening over constant rough going which causes the swing arm to fracture around the diff pivot and shaft housing, where yours broke. The problem is the bikes are way too heavy for such a delicate design. Take away the aggressive looks of the GS Adv and all you have is a street bike in Wolfe's clothing. Glad your ok.
