  • Hello ddshaper. I did exactly the same as you and for me it worked, I could even select the exact place to start recording. I have the Input and output in the same device, which means the midi doesn't play thru my synth but thru the soundcard. Do you have the output set to play thru your synth? If so, then there is no way for the output to enter the recording session again. Sorry if someone has already said this.

  • @SeKaBroN I had to buy an external device to use midi as my card had no midi input. will get back to you on which device. It has been so long and I have moved and not reassembled everything. Thanks. I'd done this for an answer man here on youtube.

  • @SeKaBroN dustpuppy's channel. you probably have a different sound card. which one do you have??

  • Another way to do it is to solo only the midi file and generate another audio file which then needs to be imported into the song as you would mix a song, in this case you're only mixing the output of the midi and reimporting it.

    File->Export->choose wav type

  • @spiralingcrazies thanks. I don't know how to do any of this stuff and basically gave up.

  • Can't help ya with that one dd. I don't use cakewalk.

  • Hi Koby: This was done for dustpuppy's help video for this program and now Common Ground's too!

  • Here's an easier/MUCH faster way:

    1.) Solo the midi track you want to convert to audio.

    2.) Click "Edit -> Bounce to track(s)..."

    3.) Set the "Destination" output to "New track."

    4.) Click "OK."

    This will take any track that is soloed and convert it to a new audio track.

    You can change the other settings if you'd like. Before you bounce, make sure there aren't any clips selected. If there are, just click on an empty space in the track pane.

    Hope that helps!

  • all u do is select the move tool and move the midi down into the audio track. i think....

  • The way I do it - loop audio patch cables from the output of the card into input on the card, mute the input so it doesn't bleed through (create a loop), then you cna bounce in realtime as much as you want.

  • MASTERING TEMPLATE IS AWESOME!!!!

  • this is incorrect for sonar 7 XL home studio... does anyone have the info on it please?

    error says selected clip does not contain any audio...

  • Thanks :]!
