This is video clip from one of our last stops on vacation. We took a drive from Mojave, CA to Pahrump, NV. The wind is blowing so hard that you may not hear me say that it is videoed from Mormon Point at the south end of the Death Valley on rte. 178, and that it was about 11:30 in the morning and was 108 degrees. It was still about 200 ft. below sea level. The highest temp I had recorded was at 10:30 am at Badwater, which was 112 degrees. My goal was to be out of the park by noon and we just crested the first mountain coming out at exactly 12. All in all an incredible place to visit, tho if I did it again, it would probably not be in the middle of July!

  • It was windy like this when we were there in April 08! But it was a hot wind like an oven door opening and blasting us. Really strange place.
