so the strings are always picked downwards? but im so sloppy pickin downwards!

Thank you so much! You're the 1st person I found who realized that a beginner needs to see what your fingers are doing rather than the back of your hand. I really appreciate the video with the proper angle to view the fingers. I'm playing better already after seeing this.

It is much like "slap Base" technique ... it is a wrist movement that does it ... down movement ... almost a spanking movement ...

hi,i am trying to learn clawhammer as arthritis stopped me from scruggs style picking.i have a problem that my thumb now as a mind of its own and i am having difficulty picking the top string cleanly..but i will percevere..stay safe..keith uk..

@TheBanjo07 keep on trying ... the arthritis is a bummer ... but the hand movement is so much less demanding ... did you look at my other video ... more info there, as basic as it is
