It doesn't matter if you have a bamboo rod or a carbon fiber rod - you're going to f up unless if you have a MINIMUM 10' clearance.

HA!! He's ASSUMING that you have that much room to cast in the first place. If you are fly fishing around a pond/lake and a 15 mph wind hits you head-on when you are trying to cast between American Beech branches, your cast can only be in the shallows. Believe me, I tried, and I cursed the wind after moving around the lake (TWICE) to try to get a better position - the wind follow you no matter where you go. It's annoying, so I see it as pointless unless the wind is no more than 5mph.

not ALL types of wind, tho. What can I do if the wind comes from the side? Just cast a little more into the direction from which the wind is blowing? I would have to duck under it in order cast farther again, right? Or is there any other trick? Either way thanks for the great videos so far! Can't wait for my rod to arrive to try it all out :)
